Innathe Chintha Vishayam- A Quick Review ( Malayalam)

Sathyan Anthikkad and his favourite heroine-Meera Jasmine join hands with Mohanlal to bring you Innathe chintha vishayam. Remember Rasathantram- where the trio had worked as a dream team, a movie which resurrected Lal ettan’s image after a few failed attempts? Well to be frank, the movie couldnt have come at a better time, as Lal ettan has been having a spate of flops
( Ali Bhai, Paradesi, RGV Ki Aag, Flash & College Kumaran) recently and so this movie was to be a turnaround for him.
The story is centered around 3 couples, all the 3 wives ( Sukanya, Mohini& Muthumani) being friends from collge days. All the 3 couples are going through stress in their marriage. Mukesh a dentist has a roving eye which gets him into
trouble with his wife, Sukanya. Mohini's husband, Vijayraghvan leaves his Gulf job to stay back at home as he is extra possessive about his wife. Muthumani's a qualified lawyer who lives in a joint family with her husband, Ashokan. Ashokan
does not want her to practice law.
All the three couples start living seperately. Though Sukanya stays in their house,
Mukesh moves out & sells his house off. Thus enters Lal ettan as the person who buys the house. He is a garment exporter who wants to use the house as his office. Initially he faces resistance from Sukanya and her friends who do not allow him to take possession of the house. Thats when Lal ettan realises that all the 3 women are staying away from their husbands.
Now Lal ettan plays the good samaritan and gets friendly with all the 3 women and goes about trying to salvage their married lives. He is helped in this journey by Meera Jasmine who joins his firm as a Fashion Designer. How Lal ettan goes about doing the task is what the rest of the film is all about. The first half of the movie is quite light hearted and moves breezily. But the second half has cliced moments and is unusually slow.
Mohan Lal is quite adequate and Meera too does a good job. Innocent and Mammookoya are also ok. All the 3 couples portray their parts well. Music by Ilayaraja is average. Overall the movie is a decent watch, but certainly not in the league of Sathyan Anthikkad's recent movies like Achuvinta Amma, Rasathantram or Vinodayathra.
Rating- 2.5/5
