RGV Ki Aag-A Quick Review

Well as promised here I am with my review of RGV Ki Aag.First things first, does RGV manage to deliver- the answer is a loud NO.Well more on the verdict later.First off all let me tell you that there's no plot to talk about- everyone knows the plot of Sholay & Ramu has just tried to replicate that with Mumbai's underworld as the backdrop replacing Ramgarh with " Kalinganj"-Ramu would you please tell me where in Mumbai do you have a mini town that too on the sea shore like this?

Well as for the characters- Big B plays Babban ( Gabbar), Mohanlal plays Inspector Narasimha (Thakur), Ajay Devgan plays Heero ( Veeru), Prashant Raj plays plays Raj, Nisha Kothari plays Ghungroo ( Basanti),Sushmita plays Durga Devi.If I were to list the positives I would say Big B does a decent Babban in bits & pieces ( but if want to watch him as bad man watch Aks- its way much better), Mohanlal is restrained & to top it all the Mehbooba song is not bad with Urmila sizzling & Abhishek doing a jig with his dad,Big B.

But the positives are too few in muber. The negatives are far too many. Its pace is very slow at times, there are hardly any arresting moments, dialogues are hardly worth mentioning ( Sajid-Farhad did you do your homework on Salim-Javed correctly?), the music is a big bore, Ajay Devgan & Prashant are both wooden, Nisha might make some front benchers happy with her skin on display but offers nothing compared to the length of the role.

All in all its one big misadventure.Ramu if Sarkar was your best movie then Aag is your worst. Please face it & come back to us with a much better work in Sarkar Raj- we are waiting eagerly for it.

Rating- 1/5

I haven't seem the movie yet , and post your review will stay a 100 yards away from it! I know it's a next to impossible feat to match the original " Sholay' , dunno why people try it. The original is close to perfection , something which too many movies can't boast about. Can never forget Surma Bhopali , one of my fav characters.
